Welcome, and thank you for visiting the website for my 2012 Congressional Campaign. We are quickly acquiring support from people from all over the country and I hope to enlist your support and to have you join our efforts.

Many have asked why I am running for the United States Congress this June.

The simple answer is “It’s Time.”

My family has lived in the 10th Congressional District for three generations. I am proud of the struggles and achievements of my family and the district during that period, and I fight for the success of our district everyday in Newark. However, I am concerned that the legacy of our achievements in the 10th District over the past 75 years is in danger.

Unfortunately, the tenacity needed to shift the paradigm from “Business as Usual” to “Business as Needed” in Washington, D.C. is painfully absent on Capitol Hill. The citizens of the new 10th District of New Jersey deserve to be the masters of their own fate, not merely passengers on a train driven by special interest dollars and out-of-touch politicians. It’s Time to act.

Actualizing change has been the hallmark of my career. I am putting forth this effort because in a historic time of financial peril, global turmoil, and rampant joblessness, the United States Congress is dominated by individuals who would rather stay comfortable than stand up and fight, or those so idealistically opposed to President Obama that they are willing to paralyze our nation to defeat him.

I have never settled for anything less than winning justice for the people of my beloved city and this district-even when those ideas have not been popular. I am running for the U.S. Congress because I want the history of our district to inspire the fight for a new vision and new ideas that will bring about historic success. I envision all three counties, and every single resident of this new district as partners in that mission, and I ask that all of you join me in our effort to “Win the Tenth.”

It’s Time for us to get into the fray. It’s Time for our voices to be heard.

This website will host information about me, my achievements as a 2nd term Newark City Councilman and my vision for the entire 10th Congressional District. As my campaign moves forward, I look forward to hearing your thoughts on what you would like to see in Washington and sharing my vision for what we can accomplish together.

Finally, the unfortunate reality is that campaign efforts require dollars, and lots of them. If you are able to contribute personally, donations in amounts up to $2600 can be posted online or checks can be made payable to Ron C. Rice For Congress and mailed to c/o James Blaney, 173 Dickerson Street, Newark, NJ 07107.

Thank you for visiting and invite others to stop by.

Sincerely,

Ron C. Rice
